Wine offer of the month, December 2018

Our Chenin Blanc is harvested from vineyards in the Stellenbosch and Franschhoek area. The grapes were picked early morning during February at optimal ripeness to ensure that the varietal characteristics are best captured. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain freshness and fruit expression and is aged on the lees for 6 months.

The Tasting Room is open daily for wine tasting from 10h00 – 18h00, with Cellar Tours on weekdays between 11h00 and 15h00, except during harvest.

The Tastes of Grande Provence

A unique food and wine pairing experience that brings together the expertise of two of Grande Provence Estate’s award-winning talents – Executive Chef, Guy Bennett and Winemaker, Thys Smit.

Breaking boundaries, The Taste of Grande Provence offers new insights into how to match food with wine. The traditional approach of red meat/red wine, white meat/white wine etc now has new ideas brought to bear on the outcome – for example weight, texture or umami (Japanese for savoury). Our trained staff will guide you through the process as four superb canapés are matched to GP wines from Grande Provence Estate. This basic knowledge will serve to enhance your future dining experiences as you bring your new-found knowledge and tutored palate into effect.

Wine Blending

Grande Provence offers a variety of unique wine blending experiences for our guests to enjoy.

Guests receive three varieties to enable them to blend their own style of wine. A wine Ambassador will guide guests through the process showing how and why certain varieties harmonise better than others. After corking their bottle, guests can then enjoy their own individually blended wine at home; a beautiful memento from the day. Groups larger than 10 guests will be divided into smaller groups and the winning group will each receive a bottle of their wine blend. The duration of your blending experience will be approximately 1 hour.

Packages exclude extra beverages and gratuity.
Advance bookings are required 3 days prior for the following activities.
Groups with eight guests or more for lunch are presented with a signature set menu.
