Experience a refined take on the traditional picnic with a gourmet, vineyard-inspired offering at Grande Provence. Set beneath our majestic oak trees and surrounded by the estate’s renowned sculpture gardens, this curated experience blends relaxed country charm with elevated flavours, all framed by the beauty of Franschhoek’s vineyards.
Available from October to April, our seasonal picnic menu showcases thoughtfully selected, high-quality ingredients that celebrate the essence of the region. Each basket is carefully composed to offer a balanced, indulgent spread—perfect for slow afternoons spent savouring exceptional food, fine wine, and tranquil surroundings. Whether for a romantic escape or a stylish gathering with friends and family, this is a leisurely yet refined way to experience the estate.
Picnic season will reopen from 01 October – 30 April annually
Monday to Sunday, including Public Holidays.
Our picnics offer a relaxed, self-service experience, allowing you to choose your preferred spot within our beautiful gardens to lay out your picnic blanket.
Basket Collections:
Available between 11:30 and 15:00 from the Bistro side.
- Picnic blankets and pillows are included with every booking. All baskets and picnic items can be collected from the Bistro.
- Please note that picnics are weather-dependent; the venue may be adjusted or reservations cancelled in the event of unsuitable weather.
Booking Requirements:
Full prepayment is required for all picnic baskets.
- For groups of 8 or more, a 48-hour notice is required during business hours.
- For groups fewer than 8 guests, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice during business hours.
- We do not accommodate dietary requirements for picnics and are not Halaal certified.
