Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate has launched a new rosé under its signature label, making its debut just in time for summer.
Paying homage to its French roots in Franschhoek, the new Grande Provence Rosé 2014 with its beautiful pale pink summer blush, is made in the classic crisp, dry Provençal style. The wine, made from 100% Franschhoek grapes, has a delicate fruity character with nuances of apple and fresh berries.
"After a visit to Provence, Alex van Heeren, the owner of Grande Provence, fell in love with their dry style rosé wines. One thing led to another and we decided to create one of our own," says Cellarmaster Karl Lambour who attributes the fruit forward character of this wine to the ideal climate of Franschhoek.
“We used our very best Merlot and Cabernet grapes and bottled the wine early to present a fresh, uncomplicated style,” explains Karl.
Grande Provence Rosé 2014 can be enjoyed on its own as an invigorating summer sip. For a truly delicious combination try it with tuna sushi or sashimi.
The wine sells at R 85.00 at the Grande Provence Tasting Room. For added convenience, this rosé can be acquired online at www.grandeprovence.co.za.
