Ralton Adams was born and raised in 1982 in the picturesque town of Pniel at the foot of the Drakenstein and Simonsberg mountain ranges. His love of the winelands developed early on and his appreciation for Franschhoek wines developed as he started working in the South African wine industry.
Adams started out in the wine industry by working as a tasting room advisor for Boschendal before moving to Grande Provence in April of 2004. Adams has worked his way through the ranks and has filled the following positions at Grande Provence in the past seven years: Assistant Tasting Room Manager, Tasting Room Manager, Sales and Marketing Assistant and Wine Brand Ambassador.
In November 2010 Adams was appointed as the new Sales and Marketing Manager for the award-winning collection of Grande Provence's signature wines and Angels Tears lifestyle wines and will be based at Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate in Franschhoek.
Adams' new duties will include managing The Tasting Room, developing new export markets for the Grande Provence brand in Europe, increasing the visibility of the Grande Provence wine collection in restaurants and boutique wine shops throughout Southern Africa, developing new export markets for the Angels Tears brand in Asia, Africa and America, ensuring the visibility of the Angels Tears brand in all supermarkets throughout South Africa and to ascertain the status of Angels Tears as one of the best house/table wine brands in restaurants throughout the country.
Adams has the following to say about his job and the estate: "I love every aspect of this multi award winning estate. I have never come across an estate where every single department is award winning. For instance our departments have recently acquired the following awards; The Restaurant (Top 10 Restaurants in South Africa - as voted by Prudential Eat Out in November 2009), The Owners Cottage (Best Hotel in South Africa - as voted by House and Leisure Magazine and Visa in 2009), The Gallery (National winner in Art and Culture - as voted by the 2011 Best of Wine Tourism Awards) and The Winery (Top 100 Wine Estates in the World - as voted by the AWC Vienna International Wine Challenge). Working for such a prestigious estate makes my job so easy because the awards speak for themselves. Once you have experienced Grande Provence you will often return and never forget the brand."
