The Gallery at Grande Provence has established itself as a leading location for contemporary South African art and a home for some of the best known South African artists.
It is drawing a wide and diverse audience from around the globe as well as Southern Africa and has won itself a reputation for collectors of South African art both at home and from countries such as the USA, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, and Ireland.
The Gallery features all the visual art forms, including painting, the graphic arts, sculpture, ceramics, and glass as well as jewellery from leading South African designers. Exhibitions change on a regular basis, usually with 6-weekly intervals.
In order to extend its involvement with South African sculpture, Grande Provence established a sculpture gallery in its gardens in 2007. This was achieved by integrating about 15 plinths with the landscaped gardens around The Gallery, Restaurant, Wine Tasting Room and Jonkershuis.
These plinths afford space for the exhibition of sculpture by leading and upcoming sculptors from across the country and add an additional attraction to the activities of The Gallery.
The Gallery is open 10h00 - 18h00 October to April and 10h00 - 17h00 May to September.
The selection of artworks exhibited at The Gallery at Grande Provence is extensive and includes paintings, drawings, original prints, sculpture, ceramics, photography and traditional beadwork.
The opening of the Sculpture Garden in 2008 adds to the experience enjoyed by art lovers.
