Grande Provence is privileged and honoured to exhibit paintings, sculptures and drawings by artist Johann Moolman who hails from Groot - Marico, North West Province. Moolman completed his post - graduate studies at St Martin's school of art in London, lectured at UNISA where he lectured in sculpture, printmaking, drawing and History Art. Moolman has held various solo exhibitions and has partaken in many group exhibitions nationally and internationally over the past 25 years. Moolman has been the guest artist at the Johannesburg Art Gallery in 1981 and his work is represented in various public and private collections:

Moolman's work reflects current Post - Modernism concerns combined with a historical consciousness of African and European art. Moolman is a Neo - Primitivist - that is why he prefers to live and work in the rural rawness of the Groot - Marico. "…in the Marico I am able to make contact with the spirits of the old to awaken the primordial within me, to nurture a primal perception."
