29 October 2007 - Home of the award-winning Grande Provence and Angels Tears wines, Grande Provence Estate, Franschhoek, announces a new menu for the summer season designed by 2007 Sunday Times Chef of the Year and the Estate’s Executive Chef, Peter Tempelhoff.
This fresh summer menu is described by Tempelhoff as “An ingredient-based menu that is light and modern with an emphasis on simple non-confusing flavours. I am really trying to move away from extremely rich sauces and garnishes, especially going into another hot Franschhoek summer.”
Diners will enjoy refreshing flavours that are simple, yet refined. An example from this new menu would be the roasted orange glazed line fish with an asparagus, rocket and tomato salad topped with a delicious parmesan cheese dressing.
To round off a perfect summer’s day, enjoy sundowners in the Angels Garden from 16:00 until 19:00 with a cheese platter and glass of wine for only R50 per person.
Beginning on 1 November 2007, The Tasting Room will have new seasonal opening hours, Monday to Saturday, 10:00 until 20:00 and on Sundays and public holidays 10:00 until 18:00. Guided cellar tours will also be available at 10:00, 15:00 and 17:00 on weekdays.
