24 January 2008 - Grande Provence, Franschhoek’s 5-star heritage wine estate, known for its superb award-winning wines, boutique accommodation and culinary excellence, announces the appointment of Jacques de Jager, as it’s Executive Chef.
South-African-born, Jacques graduated from the School of Food and Wine in Durban and went on to broaden his experience in Europe, the United States and Mozambique.
No stranger to Grande Provence, Jacques previously held the position of Assistant Executive Chef, where he learnt to use the Estate’s award-winning Grande Provence and Angels Tears wines to enhance and complement contemporary/classic French cuisine from Peter Tempelhoff.
The Restaurant and Grande Provence was recently named by Eat Out as one of South Africa’s finest and this reputation is in safe hands, with the appointment of Jacques de Jager to this role.
General Manager, Rykie van Tonder has this to say.
“Jacques de Jager is considered to be a rising star in the culinary world. We are very pleased to welcome him back to our team and we look forward to the creation of many fine signature dishes, for the enjoyment of our guests at The Restaurant”.
