The Owner’s Cottage at Grande Provence named a 2009 Grand Award winner

January 2009 - The Owner’s Cottage at the 5-star Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate, Franschhoek has been named a ‘2009 Grand Award Winner’ in Andrew Harper’s Hideaway Report Special Edition (USA) – the only South African property to have been selected for this distinction.

To be considered for this highly prestigious award, properties must be relatively small in size, possess strong individual personalities, a relaxing atmosphere and must demonstrate a consistent devotion to personal service.

The December 2008 edition of the highly-regarded Andrew Harper’s Hideaway Report gave The Owner’s Cottage a highly complimentary review. Describing the property in glowing terms as “one of the most charming and discreetly luxurious places that it has been our pleasure to discover.”

On receiving news of the Grand Award, General Manager of the Estate, Rykie van Tonder commented, “This is a truly wonderful accolade for us and a great way to start 2009.” Grande Provence Estate is no stranger to awards with The Restaurant and the Grande Provence wines also receiving more than their fair share of attention, in terms of recent top awards and accolades.
