14 February 2008 - Grande Provence Wine Estate, Franschhoek will celebrate the 2008 leap year with traditional flair by encouraging ladies to propose to the man of their dreams on Friday, 29 February 2008 whilst enjoying a unique ‘leap year’ menu specially created by Executive Chef, Jacques De Jager. The cost is R300 per person and booking is essential.
Guests can enjoy Ballotine of Norwegian Salmon with crème fraîche, salmon rilettes and slow roasted Rosa tomatoes with keta as a starter and followed by a refreshing pineapple sorbet. The main course is seared ostrich fillet with braised red cabbage, potato fondant, baby onions and roasted plum. A colourful summer dessert of Carpaccio of mango with minted mango julienne and liquorice ice cream followed by a cheese plate with estate olives preserves and biscuits, is the fitting finale to a great evening of dining.
