House and Leisure magazine, in association with Visa, announced the winners in its prestigious annual Best of SA competition. The awards celebrate the country's top lodge, spa, hotel and restaurant, as voted for by House and Leisure readers.
"This year KwaZulu-Natal excelled, winning three of the four categories," says Naomi Larkin, editor of House and Leisure magazine. "Each of the winning destinations has a unique South African touch and a global appeal, and deserves to be named the Best of South Africa."

Runner-up: Singita Sweni (Mpumalanga)
Winner: Fordoun (Nottingham Road, KwaZulu-Natal)
Runner-up: Angsana Spa (Cape Town, Western Cape)
Winner: The Owner's Cottage, Grande Provence (Franschhoek, Western Cape)
Runner-up: Cybele Forest Lodge and Spa (White River, Mpumalanga)
Winner: Hartford House (Mooi River, KwaZulu-Natal)
Runner-up: Marianas (Stanford, Western Cape)
These winners will be showcased in a 34-page local travel supplement inside the November issue of House and Leisure. The special section also includes great reasons to visit some of our country's favourite cities plus road trip inspiration and lots of summer holiday shopping.
