What to bring
Evening clothing when dining in The Restaurant is casual/elegant; tie and dinner suits are not required. Over the summer months we recommend lightweight cotton clothing, with sunhats, sunglasses and sunscreen being essential and swimwear to take advantage of the swimming pool.
During winter temperatures are definitely cooler so best to pack standard warm winter clothing – sweaters, a jacket etc.

Franschhoek enjoys a very pleasant Mediterranean climate. The summer months (December – February) bring many days of cloudless blue skies and sunshine, with temperatures ranging from an average maximum of 25˚C-30˚C and a minimum average of 15˚C-18˚C overnight.
The autumn months (March – May) bring an average maximum temperature range of 22˚C-26˚C to a minimum of 10˚C-15˚C overnight. Autumn brings the Franschhoek Valley to life with rich colours and much needed moisture needed to make autumn as spectacular as it is.
The winter months (June-August) are cooler and bring rain, with temperatures ranging from an average maximum of 18˚C to average minimums of 7˚C-8˚C. Though winter is wet there are often many sunny days to be enjoyed.
Spring (September – November) averages maximum temperatures of 19˚C-24˚C and average minimum of 9˚C-13˚C. A lovely time to enjoy the lush vines and blossom sprouting into life as the whole valley celebrates the arrival of spring.
Tipping is widely practised, with 10% – 15% being the accepted standard rate in restaurants and bars.
