Grande Provence Celebrates Women in August 2019

Posted on Fri July 12, 2019 in Events.

Grande Provence embraced women throughout August 2019 with a host of unforgettable events and special offers in honour of all sisters, mothers, wives and daughters.

What happened during Women's Month

To get the celebrations rolling, Grande Provence hosted an afternoon of Bubbles & High Tea at this picturesque landmark Franschhoek heritage wine estate on Women’s Day, Thursday, 9 August. With the theme of white, denim and a touch of bling, guests received bubbly on arrival at 12 noon and an assortment of indulgent treats.

The next Women’s Month event took place on Wednesday, 21 August, which took guests on an Italian adventure with a pasta making workshop guided by head chef Marvin Robyn. Visitors learnt how to make pasta from scratch followed by an Italian harvest lunch.

The month culminated with an insightful make-up workshop on Saturday, 31 August with special guest Minki van der Westhuizen and Marilize de Clerq who gave their best advice about fashion trends and personal styling. The workshop covered topics such as beauty and skincare, hair tips and tricks, and shared some valuable aesthetic advice by guest experts Show Hair Salon, The Lazer Lab and Dr Lehandri Maree.

Grande Provence pulled out all the stops during the entire month with pop-up stalls from various fashion brands, beauty products and craft condiments. The Bistro offered a daily cake buffet with tea and coffee, and as an added treat, female guests enjoyed savings of 25% off all food and wine purchases on the estate during August.

Additionally, the Gallery at Grande Provence celebrated Women in Art with an exhibition of paintings, sculpture, ceramics and photographs by among others Krisjan Rossouw, Lori Schappe-Youens, Talitha Deetlefs and Charmaine Haines.
